What is it and why does it appear?
The décolleté and neck have fewer sebaceous glands and a thinner dermis than the face, so less natural protection and less collagen 'in reserve'. At the same time they get sun all year, often without sunscreen, and sleeping on your side folds the décolleté for hours. The result is the vertical lines between the breasts, the horizontal lines on the neck, sun spots and the coarse, 'netted' texture of photo-ageing, and later laxity. The gentle treatments that work on the face work here too, with more careful settings: Hydrafacial cleanses and hydrates, microneedling rebuilds collagen and evens the tone [1], carboxytherapy improves circulation and spots, and Volnewmer tightens the neck. Sunscreen on the décolleté, every day, is half the treatment.
