What is it and how does it work?

Hydrafacial is a non-invasive facial that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration in one protocol. A handpiece with a spiral (vortex) tip applies mild exfoliating acids and serums in sequence, while controlled suction lifts dead cells, sebum and debris out of the pores [1]. At the end, antioxidant and hydrating serums are infused into the freshly cleansed skin, which is why the glow shows immediately. At Essentia the protocol is adapted to your skin: oilier with pores, dull and dehydrated, or sensitive. Add-on tips include LED light therapy, cryotherapy for pores and redness, and oxygen therapy. We chose it because it is the safest, most immediate glow treatment: it suits every skin type, all year round, and combines with all our other treatments [1] [2].

Treatment areas

  • Face: complete cleansing and hydration
  • Face and neck
  • Face, neck and décolleté, for an even look
  • T-zone: oiliness, blackheads and enlarged pores
  • Men's face: the Men's Clear Skin protocol for oiliness and pores

Is it right for me?

Hydrafacial suits anyone who wants immediate glow and clean, hydrated skin: before an event, as regular care, or as a first step before more intensive treatments. It is suitable for all skin types, for men too, and for every season. On dull, tired skin it gives the most striking result; on oily skin with pores, regular repeats help. It does not treat scars, deep wrinkles or laxity; for those we combine it with Dermapen 4 or Volnewmer.

How does a session go?

  1. Cleansing and gentle exfoliation with the vortex tip, which lifts dead cells and prepares the skin
  2. A mild acid solution softens the sebum in the pores, with no burning and no peeling
  3. Extraction: controlled suction empties the pores of debris and blackheads, painlessly
  4. Hydration with antioxidant serums, matched to your skin type
  5. Optional: LED light therapy, cryotherapy or a mask, depending on the protocol
  6. You go straight back to your day, with visible glow

When we postpone

  • Active cold sores or another skin infection on the face
  • Inflammatory acne in a flare
  • Sunburn or marked irritation
  • Recent peel or laser in the area
  • Oral acne medication in the last months
  • Pregnancy: we adapt the protocol or postpone, depending on the serums

After the treatment

No downtime. For 24 hours avoid sauna, intense exercise and exfoliating products; make-up from the next day. Daily sunscreen, as always. The skin may be slightly pink for a short while after the session.

What to expect: before and after

The glow shows the moment you get up from the treatment bed: the skin is cleaner, smoother and more hydrated, and make-up sits better for 2–4 weeks. That is why many people book it 2–3 days before an event. With 1–2 sessions a month, pores look smaller, blackheads fewer and tone more even. You help it along with daily sunscreen, gentle cleansing and no exfoliants for the first 24 hours.

Are there side effects?

Side effects are rare and mild: passing redness or a feeling of tightness for a few hours, rarely slight sensitivity on very sensitive skin. On skin with active acne a short-lived flare can occur, which is why we prefer to wait for it to settle [2]. If you notice marked redness or itching, call us the same day.

What does the cost depend on?

The cost depends on the protocol (basic, with LED or with add-on tips), the area (face, neck, décolleté) and the number of sessions in a programme. Add Hydrafacial to your plan and the personalised proposal, with prices, comes to you on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a session take?

From 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the protocol and areas. The basic face protocol is done in about half an hour.

Does it hurt?

No. It feels like a cool massage with light suction. No numbing cream is needed.

How often should I have it?

One session is enough for immediate glow, for example before an event. For steady improvement in pores and hydration we suggest 1–2 sessions a month.

Can I have it in summer?

Yes. Hydrafacial does not cause photosensitivity; just keep using your sunscreen daily.

Is it for men?

Yes. The Men's Clear Skin protocol is designed for oiliness, visible pores and shaving irritation.

How is it different from Dermapen 4?

Hydrafacial cleanses and hydrates, with immediate glow. Dermapen 4 rebuilds the skin gradually, over a series of sessions. Together they are the Facial Glow combination.

From what age?

Hydrafacial is done on adults of any age: on younger skin for oiliness and pores, on mature skin for hydration and glow. The protocol is adapted at the assessment.

How often should I have Hydrafacial?

Once a month is the maintenance rhythm; on oily skin or before events, every 2–3 weeks.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the protocol and areas. Add Hydrafacial to your plan and the proposal with prices comes to you on WhatsApp, with no obligation.
